Our Current Projects
The Safe House
Built to provide a safe refuge for young girls with nowhere else to go, we now have 20 girls in our Safe House, aged 4-17 years. All have been rescued from extremely dangerous family situations but have now become happy, confident girls.

The Boys’ Club

The Baby Home
A home for abandoned babies, it rescues children that have been left, often in terrible conditions, such as in a field, pit latrine, vegetable stall or railway tracks. The babies are cared for at the home until they can either be reunited with family or placed in loving adoptive Kenyan families.
The Clean Hands Programme
Hygiene is an important part of life and we felt the need to strengthen this within some communities. We provide a washing unit and regular supplies of soap and water. As a result we have seen the levels of sickness decrease.
The Reading Programme
We have now set up six Reading Programmes in schools and children’s homes, providing a large selection of age-appropriate reading books and a secure space to store them in. These children previously had little or no access to such books.
The Girls’ Protection Programme
Set up in order to provide extra support to some of the most vulnerable girls in the local area. All of them live in extreme poverty, many have been neglected and some have also been abused. We now have around 70 girls.

The Women’s Refuge
Safe, emergency accommodation for victims of domestic abuse and their children. We try to help these women to rebuild their lives and start businesses with the goal of supporting themselves and their families.
The Children’s Home
A home for children with complex family situations, health issues and disabilities, it provides a loving environment for around 50 children to grow up in. We have been working with them for a number of years, providing extracurricular activities, school supplies and other essentials.
The Stationery Programme
None of the families that we work with can afford to provide an adequate amount of stationery for their children - even the very basic items are often beyond their means. We supply pens, pencils and many other items to the most needy children.
Individual Sponsorship
As well as sponsoring children in the homes and projects, we also work with other individuals known to us, to provide extra help that also enables them to remain safely within their families. This covers things like school fees, medical care and other living costs.
The Feeding Programme
Due to high unemployment and rising costs of living, there is still extreme hardship within the slum. We provide breakfast & lunch for around 250 children, five days a week. It has increased school attendance and performance greatly.

The Special Needs Classes
The first of its kind in the area, we now have two new, well equipped classrooms and qualified SEN teachers. Many children with special needs in the community previously had no access to education, spending all day at home.
The Youth Support Programme
Our programme, giving young people from the poorest backgrounds as well as those moving out of the children’s homes into the “real world” some extra assistance with basic needs (household items, educational materials etc.), mentoring and help into employment.
The Textbook Programme
All the schools that we work with are in very disadvantaged slum areas and lack proper funding - unable to even buy proper textbooks. We have supplied textbooks & teachers guides in all subjects to three schools so far and plan to reach more.
Emergency Relief
Whenever the need arises, we provide emergency help, usually for individuals or families. In the past this has included flood relief, help to rebuild lives after fire, homelessness, medical emergencies etc.
